How to make a bulleted list
- Paste your items. Put each item on its own line. Empty lines are skipped.
- Choose a marker. Select a round, hollow, square, or triangular bullet. If you are replacing an old list style, enable Remove existing list markers.
- Copy the list. Paste it into a note, message, profile, or document and check the appearance in that app.

Predictable text, ready to paste
The generator creates a flat list: one bullet, one space, and your item on each line. It removes outer spaces and blank lines, while preserving punctuation, emoji, and spaces inside each item. It does not preserve indentation or create nested lists.
Prefix removal is optional and removes one marker per line. A decimal such as 3.14 is kept; a prefix such as 1. followed by a space can be removed. Leave the option off when a leading sign or number belongs to your content.
Need a task box instead of a bullet? Visit check marks and checkboxes. If you only need one character, use the bullet point copy buttons.
Frequently asked questions
Does this generator rewrite or summarize my text?
No. Each non-empty line becomes one list item. The tool adds your chosen bullet and a space, trims whitespace at the edges of each item, and ignores blank lines. It does not split sentences, summarize, or change the words inside an item.
Can I replace bullets or numbers already in my list?
Yes. Enable Remove existing list markers to remove one leading marker followed by whitespace, such as •, -, *, 1., or 1). It is off by default. Review the preview before copying, especially if a line begins with a mathematical sign or a meaningful number.
Does the copied list contain HTML or formatting?
No. Copy list gives you plain Unicode text with one item per line and no extra final line break. For a semantic HTML list, use ul and li elements in your website editor. For editable indentation, use your document editor’s list feature.
Is my list saved or uploaded?
No. Your input and generated list stay in memory in this browser tab. They are not saved to browser storage or our servers. Custom analytics record the tool name and copy outcome, not your text.
